Features of DocTera

In a simple implementation of DocTera, a customer can submit a collection of files with specific job orders. These files are stored on the central server and the job flows through the organization's various department. DocTera raises the quality and effectiveness of core business processes, including product development, customer management and project management. Some of the features of DocTera include:

Sept 16th, 2004 v2.2.4

The following features were added in DocTera v2.2.4:

  • Added thumbnail preview of JPEG and GIF files to the order form
  • Added an option to disable email notifications sent to admins
  • Added an option to send email notifications to multiple recipients when a job is submitted
  • Added an option to prevent regular admins from deleting jobs or files
  • Added an option to prevent regular admins from deleteing users
  • In basic http form upload, fixed a problem when the page was accessed over HTTPS. Some browsers would display a warning window that not all elements on the page were secure.
  • Complete MYSQL support in Enterprise

June 25th, 2004 v2.2.3

The following features were added in DocTera v2.2.3:

  • In basic http form upload, fixed a serious bug with large file transfers. This fix will allow the users to upload files of any size through the basic form.
  • Added a new "Printer" Template
  • Imporved On-Line help, and navigation controls in the help pages

June 10th, 2004 v2.2.2

The following features were added in DocTera v2.2.2:

  • Updated page templates. The new templates improved the general look and feel.
  • Improved the layout and location of the progress bar in form upload
  • Fixed problems with basic form upload for dial up users
  • Added GUI administration tool for the FTP tunneling servlet
  • Anonymous users can now select from multiple order forms

April 19th, 2004 v2.2.1

The following features were added in DocTera v2.2.1:

  • In Maintenance, admin can now delete jobs of any status
  • Fixed bug with basic form upload on Mac, where a user couldn't select more then one file for upload
  • Fixed bugs with the progress dialog in basic form upload
  • Made deleting old jobs in maintenance more robust
  • Fixed bugs with progress dialog for form uploads on Mac
  • Fixed bug with email notifications when a new user signs up
  • Added phone number and Credit Card info to the PDF files

April 5th, 2004 v2.2

The following features were added in DocTera v2.2:

  • Admins can now specify default upload method:
    • Adavnced Java upload applet - with Java auto detect
    • Basic Form upload with an option to switch to Advanced Java Uploader

March 10th, 2004 v2.1.1

The following features were added in DocTera v2.1.1:

  • All emails sent by DocTera are now in HTML format.
  • All applets are are now signed with a new applet certificate valid until Feb 22, 2005
  • Fixed a bug when downloading PDF files from a email link
  • Fixed a bug with default field settings in a form.

July 24th, 2003 v1.4.3

The following features were added in DocTera v1.4.3:

  • Upgraded support for MYSQL in Enterprise
  • Added support for Microsoft SQL Server in Enterprise
  • Admin can now control how many fields should be displayed in a row
  • The names of the fields are now displayed in the column headers, if the number of fields on the form is equal to the number of fields to be displayed in a row
  • Admins can now import existing data to any database system
  • Admins can now easily switch between Lite, Pro and Enterprise while in Demo mode

May 30th, 2003 v1.4

The following features were added in DocTera v1.4:

  • File properties form. Users can now select file specific properties.
  • Billing information can now be added at the end of the transaction in Lite mode.
  • Automatic FTP and SMTP server checking. No more guessing for administrators if their server configuration was entered correctly.
